Next Sunday we will have the Commitment weekend in support of the Annual Archdiocesan Appeal, 2021.
I am very grateful to all who participated in the 2020 Appeal, in spite of being a very particular year. Silently, parishioners of St. James shared generously the gifts they were blessed with, in the last year. God sees that!
One more time I would like you to consider your cooperation. Our Parish has a debt of gratitude to the Archdiocese, because knowing our needs they always help us with finance support, as we have seen the last years. Thanks to this support we were able to fix some areas of the roof of the School, and of the Church. Thanks to the Archdiocese we were able to get a new boiler and a new Air Conditioning System in the Church.
Last year I was told that the boiler of the rectory had to be replaced. Last year I spent the last months of winter with no heater, and the first month of this present winter. Well, thanks to the Archdiocese, we were able to replace the boiler system; now volunteers, and employees of the parish are not exposed to cold weather.
Therefore, I ask you to consider your cooperation; it would be a good way of showing our gratitude. Even if we cannot give a large sum of money, I think that participation is more important. If each family would make a pledge for $150 (One hundred and fifty) or $100 (One hundred), even if it were for $50, it we will be a substantial progress.
I appreciate your help; I understand that we are in difficult times; but God wanted to exercise His Providence through your cooperation. We need your help; we need your charity.
Consider this during this week. And on Sunday February 7, make your pledge, unless you have made already.
